NO INTERNET CONNECTION HELP
Hello all. I’m after a bit of help from techies regarding my laptop Internet Connection.
The WiFi symbol is coming up with an angry Orange Triangle and I can’t figure out the problem.
It appears, after a bit of digging, that the Laptop is stuck with a 169.254 IP address and I can’t clear or reset it, no matter what I do.
What I’ve tried doing…
1. Fully resetting both the Modem (Virgin) and Router (ASUS).
2. Tried to connect using Ethernet (from Router) which didn’t work.
3. Tried to connect using Hotspot (from Phone) which didn’t work.
4. Created new Account on Laptop.
5. Updated the Driver to the Adaptor (Intel DB AC 3165 (19.51.29.1))
6. Turned off all Firewalls.
7. Using CMD in Admin Mode, tried releasing and renewing the IP using ‘ipconfig /release’ and ‘ipconfig /renew’.
8. Turned off the IPv4 in Network Connections and tried to release/renew.
9. Applied a forced IP address in IPv4.
10. Tried to restart DHCP and DNS client but it’s greyed out. Tried to change regedit from 2 to 4, but didn’t work.
11. Tried various clears; ‘netsh winsock reset’; ‘netsh int ip reset’; ‘netsh int ipv4 reset’.
12. Shutdown with Shift (for Fast Start prevention).
13. Changed Network Adaptor card.
Trouble Shooting comes up with ‘WIFI doesn’t have a valid IP Configuration’..
When I Release or Renew it comes up with ‘No operation can be performed while media is disconnected’.
I am guessing maybe something to do with the DHCP server/connection,
Everything else connected to the Router works fine.
Nothing seems to work (unless I’m doing something in the wrong order) and I think I’ve reached the limits of my knowledge!
Anyone know how I can sort this?
Cheers people...
