Windows 7 A nasty virus that redirects google chrome to Bing as my search engine

Windows 7 home premium.

This has been the most hideous virus I've ever had.

Nothing can find it, not malware bytes, not avast.

I downloaded mset.exe from windows., and it seemed to have found it, some browser add-on, and it even wanted to reset my settings for chrome, but the thing has persisted. I cannot even use google at all on Chrome. As soon as I hit "enter" it redirects to Bing.

I also have an application that I can see running in task manager called "Client" That I cannot end or view in processes. I wonder if they're related.

I have done everything I can to track this thing down, from looking at any suspicious process in task manager to restarting in safe mode (where neither client shows up in task manager nor the bing redirect happens in chrome) and looked at any file modified or created when this bug started happening (on or about 4/20/18) And I have googled every sort of way of describing this experience with no result.

I am completely at my wits end. Hence my decision to post here.

If I can't sort this out, I am willing to just get a new copy of windows and new hardrives. This is totally nuts?

Anyone have any info or experience anything similar?

Thanks in advance!
