Windows 11 Add a new pc to my existing microsoft account.

When I log sign-in to my microsoft account I see all my current computers. Good.. However, I have a new (non-microsoft device, i.e., a new pc with Windows 11). I was hoping that the microsoft account would automatically see the new pc when I log onto the account through the new pc. It doesn''t. And when I try to add/register the new pc the account it asks for the "device" serial number. The "device" does not have a serial number. Any help to add the new pc onto my existing MS account is appreciated. "Ozzie" N.
