Windows 11 Adobe Premiere Elements causing Windows 11 to crash

For the past month or so, Windows often freezes while running Adobe Premiere Elements 20.0. If it freezes during playback, the speakers get stuck in a buzz. Only thing I can do is long press the power button for a hard reset. On one occasion, Windows blue screened, but usually nothing happens until I force a shutdown.
