Windows 10 After online update from windows 8 to windows 10, display does not turn on.

Hi, my brother saw an update to windows 10 pop-up on his laptop, he proceeded with the update but during the process his screen blacked out and does not display anything anymore. I can see the pc is turning on and off (power light) but since I cannot see anything I cannot even get to the Bios repair option or any of the other troubleshooting steps I found for such kind of issues (most are for pc stuck in the loading of windows but this one cannot even display anything)Any advice or help?
