Windows 10 Apparent conflict between M.2 Crucial SSD and Western Digital HDD in BIOS

Just purchased an M.2 Crucial P5 Plus 2 TB SSD. Installed into MB slot and restarted PC. Met with black screen that said something about connect a proper boot device and reboot. Rebooted to look at boot sequence in bios and noticed the new SSD is listed but my SATA Western Digital WD 1001 FALS HDD is not listed in the hardware. Only UEFI Hard Drive. Chooseing the UEFI hard drive as first boot did not work. Removed the SDD drive and rebooted. This time my WD HDD showed up as a possible boot device. Set that as 1st boot, restarted and Windows loaded just as before. Every time I install the SSD,
