Hello.

I'm at my wit's end on this one. I can plug in a microphone into my onboard soundcard. From there, I get a popup from Realtek asking me if I plugged in a microphone, which I confirm. However, no signal comes through.

Microphones I tried: Sennheiser PC 350SE and HyperX Cloud II. Both work fine on any other PC.

Sound card is the onboard soundcard for MSI's Z270 Gaming M5 motherboard. The installed driver version is 6.0.1.8412, which was uploaded by MSI on May 16, 2018.

I've used both headsets on this PC and sound card for several years without any issue. The problem began with the April update.

Things I've tried:

- I've tried connecting to the real and front panel. On the rear panel I've tried both Line in and Mic in.

- I've uninstalled, updated, and reinstalled Realtek HD Audio Driver

- I've ran Microsoft's troubleshooter for recording devices, it finds no issues.

I've also manually checked all sound settings I could find:

- The Mic input is set as Windows default.

- Device usage is enabled.

- Listening to device is disabled

- Level is 100 and amplification set to +30dB. If there were any signal I should pick it up.

- I've tried both ticking and unticking "disable all sound effects" to no avail

- I've tried different default formats, ranging from 16bit 44.1kHz to 24bit 196kHz.

- Exclusive mode is disabled (despite it working with it enabled in the past).

ANY tips would be greatly appreciated.
