Windows 10 asus gaming laptop runs abnormally hot after waking up from sleep mode, and battery life is significantly reduced

A while ago, I purchased an asus gaming laptop (zephyrus g14) and I have had what seems to be software issues since I have got it. when I first turn on the laptop, it idles at around 30C and gets a good 6-7 hours of battery life. However, when I wake the laptop up from sleep mode and sometimes shutdown, these temps spike by 20-30C and the battery life goes down to under an hour. here is what I have tried; contacting asus, resetting the laptop (which fixed it for about a week, and I installed no programs and the issue came back.) cleaning the laptop and replacing the thermal paste, reinsalling ALL drivers, disaling the boost clock, and making all programs run on integrated graphics. The only thing that temporarily fixes it is a restart, which leads me to believe this is a windows issue. Has anyone had experience with this, and how did you fix it?
