When plugged in to any USB port, windows 10 does not detect any audio devices and displays that there are none. The sound control panel says there are no audio devices installed. Tried two different sets of speakers with the same results. Other devices are recognized in all the same USB ports, including a bluetooth adapter through which I can connect a pair of bluetooth headphones without issue. Both sets of speakers are recognized when using the 3.5mm jack, but will sporadically cut out for 2-5 seconds.
I have followed all steps recommended in this thread: Windows 10 does not detect USB speakers
This includes using both audio and USB troubleshooters, updating/reinstalling all audio and USB drivers, creating a new user account, running system file checker through the command prompt, and performing a clean boot with all start up programs disabled. All to no avail.
