Windows 11 Auto brightness doesn't adjust after waking up from sleep

I have a laptop Asus Vivobook K6602V that has an auto brightness feature. When the ambient light changes while the laptop is awake, the auto brightness works relatively fine (I wish it was more responsive). But when waking up from sleep, the brightness is set to whatever it was when it went to sleep. Brightness was at about 20% last night when I used the laptop but today I open it in a very well lit room and the brightness stays at 20%. If I go to Settings and turn auto brightness on and off, it readjust correctly to about 70%. Or if I use my phone's torch to shine directly into the sensor, th
