Windows 11 Backup and restore (Windows 7)

I have been creating disk images of my laptop with the latest version of Windows for a long time using Backup and Restore (Windows 7). I back it up to a Thunderbolt USB drive, less than 5 minutes. Today, after trying to create an image, after 20 minutes it looked like it was still backing up, but nothing was saved, when I stopped the backup and checked the directory. I tried to create an image several times, but the same thing happened.What's wrong?
