Windows 11 Bitlocker locked out, no recovery key in microsoft account

my desktop got an update and after it restarted. it is asking for a bitlocker key. i tried to navigate to my microsoft account, i can see my pc there but under recovery keys, it is showing there are no recovery keys associated with the account
