Windows 10 BitLocker Recovery keeps freeze?

My Gateway laptop has a BitLocker. I entered the key correctly and hit enter and the page just stays exactly the same and nothing happens but no other actions can be taken. I have also tried hitting ESC on the BitLocker recovery screen and that takes me to a screen that says Preparing BitLocker Recovery, but that freezes as well. What else can be done to fix this laptop?
