Any advice on the Windows 10 Black Screen of Death?
* The affected computer is an Omen gaming laptop. The Omen logo appears upon start-up but then the screen goes black. I can still see and move the cursor.
* I cannot access the task manager through Control + Alt + Delete
* I cannot get to the login screen.
* Booting in any form of Safe Mode still gives me the same black screen.
* I have tried to do a System Restore and other repair options BUT I need to sign in to use them and Windows 10 is refusing to recognize my password. The password is correct. Is there some other mechanism preventing its recognization?
I am backing up my files right now, as HP Recovery Manager lets me access its repair options without a password, but the next step is going to be a factory reset. I really don't want to do that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
