Windows 11 Bluetooth headphones paired and connected, but no sound: Properties Page cannot be adjusted, Troubleshooting claims the headphones are not "Plugged in

Until yesterday my bluetooth headphones were working fine. Today no longer. They can be connected and play a little sound when connecting, but no system sounds or media can be played through them. In Settings->System->Sound->All Sound Devices->Properties, I cannot adjust the values "Audio" Allow/Disallow or "Volume" (which is stuck on 0 mute)."Troubleshoot common sound problems" claims the Bluetooth headphones aren't "plugged in". I've tried: restart, system and windows updates, update headphone driver, turn off/on bluetooth, bluetooth troubleshooting, audio troubleshooting. Thanks
