When I open Chrome, Firefox or Opera, within 20 seconds I've been getting either a blue screen or black lines all over the screen and my laptop freezes. If I don't open any browser then my laptop usually lasts 30 minutes without a blue screen. But yesterday, my laptop never got a blue screen unless I opened a browser.
Another problem that started around the same time is that the browser suddenly closes, or the tab crashes repeatedly, after which I usually get a blue screen.
The blue screen errors are usually "page fault in non-paged area" or "irql not less or equal". A while ago I also got "System Service Exception".
I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 running Windows 7 Service Pack 1.
I've tried
-installing different browsers
-running Windows Update
-running AVG antivirus
-updating outdated drivers (Dell's driver checker found 1 old driver related to the BIOS. Updating the driver stopped the blue screens only for one day.)
-Windows Memory Test said there's a hardware problem, but the laptop always freezes before the test finishes completely.
-WhoCrashed said it's likely a software problem and suggested I update the driver "nt_wrong_symbols.sys" but I can't figure out which driver that is? Google has been mostly unhelpful
