I have been having a vexing issue over the past few months with 'random' BSOD issues. I am running a 2010 era machine originally with windows 7 that I recently had to upgrade to Windows 10 due to EOL of security upgrades. Since the upgrade, the BSOD issues have started. I am trying to understand what the root cause is so that I can keep my existing machine. Any help or suggestions that people have would be most welcome.
Issues:
BSOD - mix of IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and MEMORY_MANAGEMENT (primarily IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL).
Per 'bluescreenview' the repeating issue is "ntoskrnl.exe"
Occurrence - Seemingly random. More often when playing graphic intensive video games
Solutions tried so far:
Hardware scanning - DSIM, sfc /scannow, chkdsk, memory test, hard drive temp check
Hardware checks - Physically inspection of RAM seating, etc.
All windows updates installed, all drivers (per windows) latest versions
I suspect that maybe this is a driver compatibility issue, but don't know how to check. Potentially related to an older USB printer (errors seem to be more frequent when it is turned on). I have the dump files, but don't really know how to read the error codes.
