Windows 10 Can I delete a registry key that I just created?

I've been struggling to solve a problem for some time now. In Windows, my photos will show thumbnails, but my videos will not. One step an article told me to do, was go to the Registry Editor and follow this path (Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer), then create a REG_DWORD 32 bit value called "Disable Thumbnails". All it did was make it so NONE of my thumbnails show now! But if I go to delete it, I'm afraid that my computer will not boot. What can I do?
