Windows 11 can I schedule downloads of Win 11 updates?

The Win 11 settings don't seem to allow you to be notified when updates are available so you can download them when you aren't busy doing something else. Often when I'm in the middle of working, the computer suddenly slows down or freezes momentarily as the download happens without any warning. I know I can schedule the installation of updates and the restart. So why don't I have the option to schedule the download as well? Or am I missing something? Thanks for any assistance.
