Windows 11 Can widgets open apps instead of webpages?

I'm accustomed to the tiles in Windows 10, which worked really well:the Calendar tile showed your schedule for the day then you can just click on it to open Microsoft's Calendar appthe Mail tile gave a preview of new emails then you can just click on it to open Microsoft's Mail appthe To-Do tile gave a list of your tasks for the day then you can just click on it and open the Microsoft To-Do appI was hoping that widgets in Windows 11 would work the same way, but they don't. Clicking on a widget opens a webpage in Microsoft Edge instead of the relevant app that the widget is supposedly linked to
