Windows 11 Cannot give name to new folder

When I create a new folder in windows explorer, I click "new" and then select "folder" in the drop down menu. The folder is created but I do not have the possibility to give it a name anymore. As if someone is pressing the "enter" key immediately. Because of this, the folder just gets the name "new folder". The cursor jumps directly from the new folder to the path in explorer at the top of the window (the path is highlighted). I have to right click again on the new folder and select "rename" to give it a name.
