Windows 11 Can't add my phone number to my microsoft account.

Whenever I try to add my phone number to my account, this notification appears: The phone number you entered isn’t valid. Your phone number can contain numbers, spaces and these special characters: ( ) [ ] . - * /. I've tried restarting my computer, trying to do it on my phone, and trying different ways to put my phone number in. Someone I know with an old phone number (0413 start) worked completely fine, while my newer phone number (0493) didn't work. I'm completely sure I've typed it in correctly, not copy + pasting and not having any spaces. I've also connected my phone to my PC, so I'm not
