Windows 10 Can't ping the second network interface connected to a switch

I have configured a second NIC on my PC with a static IP address/subnet mask/default gateway (They are correct as I tested them on another machine) but I can't ping it's IP from the switch, even though they are directly connected.The first interface (DHCP Configured) is connected to the internet successfully, is this a case of windows preferring to use the first interface and "implicitly" disabling the other one? How do I have both of them enabled?
