Windows 7 Can't use E-Mail on my new Windows Vista/7 laptop

Recently, I found a family member's old laptop and they wanted to get rid of it. It dualboots Windows Vista and Windows 7. On the Windows 7 install, it seems I can only use E-Mail on the website. It will not work on these:- Windows Live Mail (works on other computers I have with 7.)- Outlook 2007 and 2010 (also works on other computers with Win. 7.)What is the problem that I'm having? I use a @hotmail.com email address, and I correctly entered in the server settings. I can't login with POP even with "Allow apps and devices..." enabled, and when I try to log in with IMAP, both programs crash.
