Windows 10 Cat 6 ethernet connection not improving my ping or download speed on my pc.

I recently installed a new cat 6 ethernet cord and it didn't resolve my lag spikes issues, it didn't improve download or upload speeds at all,and my ping didn't decrease one bit I hope I could resolve this issue.
