Dear community,
I recently run into a lot of problems where my Lenovo Yoga C940 laptop crashed every few hours, mostly because of a DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION. To fix it, I run chkdsk /f. Later, my computer crashed again and I am always only shown the option to Troubleshoot or restart. This seems to be a known issue outlined here:
As discussed in the troubleshoot on the website, I select command prompt from the Advanced Options. First, Windows prompts me: "Enter the recovery key to get going again". As described here (Get Bitlocker password when not having access to verifying Microsoft account) I currently cannot access my Microsoft account and thus cannot enter the BitLocker Encryption key. After selecting "Skip this drive", the command prompt is opened in the directory X:\windows\system32.
When running chkdsk /f on this volume, I am shown the error message:
The type of the file sytem is NFTS.
Cannot lock current drive.
Windows cannot run disk checking on this volume because it is write protected.
When trying to switch to the normal drive by typing "C:" into the command line I am shown:
This drive is locked by BitLocker Drive Encryption. You must unlock this drive from Control Panel.
Is there anything I can do to still use the troubleshoot from the windows page without knowing my BitLocker Drive Encryption key?
Thank you very much in advance for your help!
