I am not sure where 'the right place' is supposed to be for all of the surreal technical difficulties I have experienced for over 6 weeks now. Try to stay with me because this is going to blow everyone's mind. Additionally, all of this has basically occurred simultaneously and grown into magnanimous proportions. I will do my best to outline things so they aren't too confusing because I have yet to find someone or some information where I can actually get some help. I work remotely from home. However, to be clear, I am not set up as an actual remote user. I am (well, I was initially) setup within a workgroup on a single domain with standard user profile, on public network. Employer provides Lenovo ThinkPad L750. Technical specifications: Windows 7 Professional, package version 6.1, architecture AMD 64. Publisher info: Internet Explorer version 1.0, Windows version 1.5. With All of that now out on the table, I'll get to it. My laptop needed to be replaced about 6 weeks ago. We use a third-party source to handle initial setup on laptops and also as our 'IT Dept' although the company won't say that. I called that 3rd party for initial setup when replacement was received. Call start time was ~2:45pm. At 5:06pm, the tech asked me to call back in the morning to 'tie up loose ends' ... yes, I was literally on the phone with him that long yet he still hadn't finished all reconfiguration when he astonishingly asked me to call back in the morning so he could hit the road...stayed 6 minutes longer than required in his mind. That information was and is important for everyone to know, as I and several others firmly believe that this is where all of my problems almost IMMEDIATELY started to occur. I will simply list each issue from this point forward, and do my best to keep them sequential although as I mentioned early on, a lot of these things have occurred simultaneously. Here we go. First, the very next morning, I could not reach My person because I could not access the internet. Once I did get through, he couldn't get online with me although I continued to tell him I had internet access on my end. He insisted I did not because he could not see me out there. Let's say that this back and forth went on for almost 2 weeks. I was consistently told that the connectivity issue was on my end, keeping in mind I never lost internet access other than for the first few hours that original morning. During that period of time, however, I did have internet access but could not access any of the applications that I must use in order to do my job. One by one, access was unattainable. They could not figure out why and continued to say it was a connectivity issue on my end. Kid you not... during one of my now-daily calls to our 3rd party, he was in my computer when he actually couldn't open things either. Yay, I thought. Now they will believe all of this is actually TRUE! HE was so shocked and said, hmmm, weird because it should've kicked us out as well. Thinking this would now actually be investigated, I was hopeful for about 15 minutes...then his manager, top dog over there, called to personally handle this nonsense. THREE AND A HALF HOURS LATER, he still hadn't figured it out, nor could he manage to successfully install my printer to use Wifi in lieu of wired. He finally got tired of messing around with it, told me I'd have to call the manufacturer myself and figure it out. He ended with comments insisting that this was still a connectivity issue on my end and had nothing to do with the network or the system or the computer all on me. During this time as well, I had quickly noticed that when I logged on, I was actually connecting directly to the network as in, all of my computers printers DirecTV router... You name it showed up on the screen right there on the network for everyone to see. Additionally, I suddenly started roaming and being put in temporary folders every time I logged in and for the entire time I was online. Once again, brought this to everyone's attention. Once again, I was literally treated as though I was out of my mind. No one could believe this could possibly happen, No way the system could be that vulnerable to a security breach. I had to have done something in order to get that kind of access without approval. Honestly, I agreed in terms of how could this happen? But I certainly did not gain access on my own. I reported it immediately to everyone above me and expressed my extreme concern about it didn't want to have the access but most importantly, was very frustrated by the fact that the third party blew me off and thought it was a joke. Never looked into it. I could not access files and folders like all other Standard users in a workgroup. Suddenly I had at least three probably 3 probably four different profiles, a couple on the domain itself. I know this because I was connecting directly to the internet not within a work group and suddenly had privileges that a hacker would have loved. As in, I had ownership of many objects, I was the parent and could literally see my child profile out there as a standard user within a workgroup. However, the system could not find me in the work group it followed me on the domain roaming as this temporary person, aka the parent. No one would listen even after being given such worrisome facts. I'm going to wrap this up even though it went on and it's still going on to this day I had so many duplicate Windows folders and files growing overnight, went On 4 days. I could not find a single thing. I could drill down 40 levels and not find a document. It got so bad that the entire thing ended up encrypted. I had no idea this that occurred. It should not occur without human interaction. However none of these things should occur without human interaction. The encryption key and certificate showed up. Of course, I immediately informed my manager and also informed it. At that point, they actually went into the system and saw how grotesque my folders and files had become. They were shocked and incensed that I had encrypted the stuff, took the key and within 48 hours, all of my files and folders were gone all documents required for my job, applications I need access to, access to printer had been put on lockdown, even documents in my individual secure file transfer site were deleted. I mean, gone. I continue to tell my boss about this because I could not do my job and felt and still feel extremely extremely hurt and then shocked that no one took me seriously while I was screaming the entire time for someone to do something. last thing compatibility issues I work in a program that is a web-based program now I'm getting the standard messages when I do a compatibility troubleshooter, it says that it's an incompatible app and gives me the same information that others have seen on these sites... that it needs to be fixed and needs to be compatible with Publisher version 1.0 of Internet Explorer and 1.5 of Windows and Windows package version 6.1. Didn't tell all of you that while all of the above was going on, files were disappearing out of that application. I would try to send things Over the Internet to the office. They were gone on my end but never made it to the office. I would get back on the computer, and there was the file except it was completely empty as though it had never been worked. Final words...as of this morning, I sat down to send 6 completed projects that I had done and looked at Within the last 24 hours. When I went to transmit, everyone was empty gone as though nothing had been done on it. Guys and gals, I wish I were pulling your leg but I am not. All of this is fact and quite a few people have witnessed it themselves. I've been through 4 computers in right over six weeks now. I have run every diagnostic test available and nothing is wrong with the computers, I knew that almost immediately once nothing changed with replacement computer #2. This is NOT meant to be a joke, hoax or creepy story. I'm dead serious and have tons of pics showing these things all along the way. So, my question to all of you is what is going on? How can SO MANY impossible things occur without any human interaction? I wouldn't believe all of it could happen until it all happened to me! Most importantly, what do I do to have it fixed?? Could It be related to the multiple user profiles that I had out there? That issue was never resolved other than by taking everything away from me within the system. HELP!!!
