Windows 10 Desktop Icons

My Desktop Icons have suddenly become too close together. I have NOT made any changes in the Registry Editor, so I don't know why the grid seems to have changed. The "Align icons to grid" is selected but the icons align to the left of the screen and are too close together.Any suggestions would be appreciated. I'm very reluctant to make changes in the registry as nothing has been changed there.
