Windows 10 Desktop Window Manager (dwm.exe) has very high Commit memory but low Working Set (indicated in Task manager)

Hello,

I am running a Thinkpad X13 Yoga Gen 1 with Windows 10. I have noticed that sometimes the system becomes slow because it runs out of RAM, and if I open Resource Monitor it says that dwm.exe has a 9 GB commit size but only about 50 KB working set, as seen in the image:

Why is it using so much memory?
A particularly annoying thing is that because the working set is low in Task Manager the total RAM use shown totals to only about 5 GB even though it says 98% usage.



How can I fix this?
