2 screens
I don't know whether what I am asking for even exists; I'm just running the question up the flagpole so to say.
I have two screens, one on which I do all my stuff so to say, word processing, browsing, game playing etcetera. On my other screen, I have a browser open to one particular online chatting facility.
While I try to remember to briefly flick my eyes to the second screen as often as I can, there are times when I may become engrossed in a task, or a game, and, despite my basic wish, I just simply forget to glance across; this has, on more than one occasion, caused me to miss a crucial message or interaction.
I am just wondering if there is some device that I might attach to my computer which will cause a light, on that device, to flash and/or cause a quite loud noise to be emitted, from that device, when an event occurs in the chatting window. I am quite hard of hearing and channel the computer sound through headphones, which I only wear when I am gaming.
I don't want to have to keep on switching my sound output, from when I'm gaming (headphones) to speakers (other times); anyway, I really don't want to hear all the many other event sounds, which various programs produce, just this one alert.
Any ideas would be most welcome, please.
