Windows 11 Did backup of my pc and now my files disappeared

I upgraded to windows 11 after postponing it until a week ago, my first mistake......Today i opened my settings and it gave me the option to make a backup on one drive, all my files moved to my desktop so i opened the backup manager and deselected the folders of the backup.Now all my files disappeared including the ones i originally had there, and even on the file explorer all my files are only available on one drive. I want my desktop to return to its original state and for my files to be available locally again with the location they had.
