Windows 11 directx 12 - dual graphics card

Hi I'm trying to play a game and it states 'DirectX 12 is not supported on your system. Try running without the -dx12 or -d3d12 command line argument'. Directx 12 is loaded but not enabled. I have 2 display adaptors Intel(R) UHD Graphics and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU. I know the later supports directx 12. How do I make this my preferred graphics card? Thank you for your help
