Windows 10 Draw on Word/OneNote using mouse or digital writing pad (e.g. XP-Pen) cause screen to go black and flicker

I had been using XP-Pen Star G960S on my office Windows 10 laptop take notes on OneNote and Word. It was working all fine. Recently some windows upgrade was installed. Now when I am trying to use the the digital writing tablet to write or draw something on Word or OneNote, the screen goes black for few seconds and then keep on flickering. I thought my device might have gone faulty but after disconnecting the device if I use mouse to draw or write, the same thing happens. If I use the device as a mouse (use pen to move the pointer - click button, minimize or maximize windows etc) and not draw/w
