My Dell Inspiron Desktop, running Windows 7 Ultimate, has 2 DVD/CD drives. Suddenly neither drive will read DVDs that contain programs, both commercial and DVDs made on this computer. This happens on both drives. However, DVDs that have photographs will be read and displayed with no problem. CDs are read with no problems.
I have several commercially purchased program discs and none of them can be read by either drive. Each time I use Windows Explorer to see what programs are on the disc the following message is displayed "Please insert a disc into drive ( )". I have tried a known good drive from another computer and get the same results, which indicates a software problem of some sort.
Any help will certainly be appreciated.
