Have been experiencing various issues with my laptop and see in my event log some sporadic disk errors.


The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk2\DR2. (9/21/2015 3 time in a row within milliseconds of each other) (9/14/2015)


The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk2\DR5. (8/29/2015)


The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk2\DR4. (8/4/2015)

This is relating to an Acer Aspire 7745G.


What does this actually mean, and more importantly, how do I resolve the issue?



After reviewing the Disk Management console it would appear to relate to USB drives. Sadly, windows has scrapped numerous drives on me (even when properly ejected), so it is not surprising there would be such errors I suppose.
