Windows 10 External USB drive letter assignment problem

Hi All,I'm faced with a little conundrum concerning what I feel the 'willy-nilly' assignment of a drive letter to external SSD backup disks.Looking for your insights (and hopefully solutions).When I attach disk-1 to my brand new Dell laptop running Windows 10 (updates up to date) it assigns it drive letter D: which is great.Then the drive is ejected (through the system tray Safely Remove option), which works as expected.Then disk-2 is attached to the laptop and I was expecting to get drive letter D: assigned to that disk also, but to my surprise it got assigned drive letter E:. !!!It's almost
