I have a surface pro 3, Windows 10, version 1909. I've been having an issue with a feature update that continues to try to load but fails (version 2004, last tried to load 8/30). The bigger issue I'm having is that as this v. 2004 update continues to try load, it's been taking up large amounts of space on my hard drive, and this failed update files are just sitting on my hard drive - they are not being automatically deleted. I want to clear up this space.
From what I understand, the updates are in a folder "$WINDOWS.-BT" on my hard drive. I've looked at the amount of space, and it's about 12.3GB.
My question is, can I delete this folder from my C drive (the entire thing)? I don't want to proceed unless I'm assured that deleting it will not remove system files that my tablet needs to work correctly. Please advise if I may safely proceed with the deletion of this folder and if there are other system folders where this update may be. Thanks.
