Long story short, whenever I try to rick click a file, File Explorer crashes. This doesn't happen with folders, and it doesn't happen on the desktop. File Explorer also crashes when I try to move a file by dragging it, and it also sometimes crashes when I go into a folder, only to allow me to open said folder next time I try. I have searched for an answer for a couple days now, but every fix I've found hasn't worked. Here's a list of the things I tried (note that i may have forgotten about some things):
- Restarting my PC
- Restarting the File Explorer task via Task Manager
- Disabling all third party context menu handlers
- Using an alternate file explorer (like 7-Zip File Manager)
- Performing a 'soft boot'
- Running a virus check (nothing came up)
- ect.
Essentially, every fix I found googling the issue, I tried, and failed. Additionally, sometimes it works fine, only to crash moments later. The only way I've found to do what I want with it is to brute force it. Every once in a while, it'll work for a couple seconds. If anyone has any idea what might be happening, or better yet, have any potential fixes, please do tell me.
Thanks in advance.
