My computer locked up on August 14, 2017. I couldn't do anything, including turn it off.

I tried to contact my local computer guy but couldn't. Had work I needed to do, so I took the bait and called the "Help Desk" number on the screen. I was connected to a man who said his name was Matt Cooper. He claimed that he worked for the MicroSoft Service Group. I think Matt felt bad about the fraudulent activity he was involved with because he terminated the conversation, and my computer continued to be locked up.

Foolishly, I called the "Help Desk" again and was connected with Kavin who claimed that he worked for MicroSoft Network Security. I have a receipt for the $$$ I paid which supposedly purchased 5 years of Network Security and 3 years of Technical Support. The receipt is from a so-called business named Live Scan Services in Walnut Creek, California.

Later, I was able to contact my local computer person who spent several hours removing malicious stuff from my computer. I also called my bank to ask that the credit card charge be held up as it was fraudulent. Two weeks later, I have been informed that I need to provide additional details, which I will do. In the meantime, I hope to hear from anyone else who has encountered this company.

I have called the phone number on the receipt and spoke to "Alex Smith" who had a heavy accent. He argued that I should have called them to do any repair work on my computer. At last, he has said that their "billing department" will call me within 24 hours regarding a refund.

I would like to hear from anyone who has filed a fraud claim against Live Scan Services and gotten all of their money back. Thanks!
