Hey folks,
I have sync'd up the Windows 10 "Your Phone" app with my Samsung Note 10+, and everything works (this is untrue, see Edit 2 below) except for the Phone screen option that allows the app to display and interact with my phone screen directly on my PC. Whenever I try to activate that option, I get this message: "We found something getting in the way... [X] Your Android phone model isn't supported."
What's interesting about this is that the Samsung Note 10+ is one of the few phones where this feature is supported. Furthermore, I actually had this feature up and running several months ago, but haven't had a reason to use it until now. Since then, my phone has seen several updates, including Android 9 > Android 10 plus a myriad of monthly security updates. Ditto for Windows 10 on my PC.
I've worked through all of the troubleshooting steps available, but to no avail. The "Your Phone" app is the latest version on both the PC and on the phone (Link to Windows in Samsung's Android settings). I have toggled every relevant switch on and off and on again in the settings for both apps. I have unlinked my phone and my PC, and I have terminated, reset, cleared cache, cleared data, and uninstalled and reinstalled the apps on Android and PC. No settings on my router has changed since this was last working.
After every change, I get the same "Your Android phone model isn't supported" message.
What am I missing? Any other suggestions? Something outside the box, maybe?
Thanks,
Kev
Editing to add: PLEASE HELP! I can really take advantage of this feature right now in my small business workflow.
Edit 2: The Your Phone Companion app on my Note 10 appears to indicate a stable connection with the Your Phone app on the PC, but on the PC side it's a different story. When using the Photos, Messaging, or Notification features, the connection to my phone seems sporadic. Sometimes it works, sometimes I get an "Unable to connect to your phone" message. Sometimes I don't get that message, but the data transfer (refreshing Messages, for example) is extremely slow. I'm not at all sure what's going on here....
Further info, the only recent change that I can think of that may be the cause of this is that I have disabled my laptop's built-in 802.11g Wi-Fi modem and replaced it with a USB 802.11(+BT) dongle. I'll try switching back and will update here IF that fixes it (I'm doubtful).
