Windows 11 Gmail account not showing emails and same updates as the app version

Hello,For a while, I had used an Icloud account as my main email account and decided to switch to Gmail as I preferred the way it is set up on both my Iphone and laptop. I have managed to sync my iphone app and can now access and respond to all of my emails. However, when logging into the same account via microsoft edge on my laptop, i have no emails and its as if it is a brand new account. How do I make this so that is it synced and up to date?Thanks.
