Windows 10 Growing number of files in Temp folder can not be removed

I am running Windows 10 64 Bit on Dell Laptop since 2015 with a 500 GB nominal hard drive. It now is being used at about 96 GB of storage. I need to double check, but think that the laptop has 8 GB of RAM. On 2/14/2022 the Windows 10 system updated to 21H1. OS Build 19043.1526. Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.4170.0. Since that time, starting 2/18/2022, the number of files and MB in the Temp folder is growing and I have been unable to remove the temporary files using 1) Windows Administrative Disk Clean Up tool; 2) Settings/System/Storage/Free Up Space or 3) McAfee Live Safe Quic
