Windows 11 Hard drive space required to update from Win 10 to 11, can I specify which of 2 internal hard drives?

I have been postponing "upgrading" to Win 11 from 10 for a list of reasons. Today, before I set a further postponement on the installation Microsoft has been trying to FORCE on me (I can't allow ANY updates to my system or Win11 upgrade will install itself) our system gave a message saying our C: drive didn't have sufficient space for Win 11 upgrade. There's 9 GB free on the first internal hard drive but we have a second internal hard drive I usually pick for installing any new software and that drive has 930 GB free space on it.1. Am I restricted to ONLY the drive on which Win 10 is presently
