Windows 10 has anyone ever heard of external speakers functioning through one speaker only when plugged into a headphone jack in a laptop in windows 10?

i have tested this after updating an audio driver and restarting my laptop. i found that the speaker has a jack for a headphone in the speaker itself.So what happens is that when i plugged in the speaker to the headphone jack, one speaker becomes muted. When I also plug in the headphones into the speaker, one side of the headphones also becomes muted.I thought that I had posted an original thread related to this topic here, but it does not seem to be in my profile.One logical issue is that the external speaker is somehow not being recognized specifically by the laptop as stereo speakers, and t
