I have machine that I built five years ago. It has a Intel i5-4590 running on an Asus Atx Z97-E motherboard, 16 gigs of RAM and an ATI fire Pro V4900 video card. Have never had issues with this machine but yesterday, not long after I booted up, the screens just went blank (no video signal) and there was no response to keyboard or mouse input even though the machine was to still running and all the lights on the motherboard look the same as normal. Turned my computer off, and turned it back on... Still nothing but a blank screen even though I can see the computer booting up. Waited an hour and tried again and it booted up normally. About 20 minutes in I started watching a YouTube video and when I went to click to open a new browser window the screens went blank again and the audio from the video just started buzzing. Restarted the machine and nothing, still the same blank screens. I then decided to connect the monitors to the embedded Intel graphics card to see if it was a video card issue but I still could not get anything to show when I started the computer. Did not try to use it again until this morning and it started booting with a message at the bottom that I think said "please wait" and when it was done it said that an operating system was not found and navigated to the "choose an option" blue window. I chose troubleshoot and start repair but was unsuccessful and when it rebooted, it went back to a blank screen. Shut off my computer, unplug it from power, waited a few minutes and plugged it back in and it looked like it was going to boot but right as it loaded the image on the Login screen, the screen went blue and I have not been able to get anywhere sense.
Given the inconsistency in how its failing it's hard to figure out what's going on. Is the OS corrupted? Is it my SSD boot drive? The motherboard bios or the video card? I would really appreciate some guidance on this. Thank you!
