Hello there,

It has been about 2-3 months since I finished building my first PC. I put all the components in, turned it on, and it worked . Over time, I have been noticing some issues. I have tried doing some simple diagnosis, but nothing has been conclusive.

The Problem

  1. Programs crash occasionally: Android Studio, VS Code, etc.
  2. Computer sometimes blue screens with a variety of error codes. Mostly in reference to the dxgkrnl.sys (via BlueScreenView).

Diagnostics

  1. Updated drivers
  2. Verified drive integrity
  3. Verified Windows integrity
  4. Windows Memory Diagnostics (0 errors)
  5. Clean reinstall of Windows 10
  6. Updated drivers (again after reinstall)
  7. Memtest86 (0 errors)

The issue still persists… thermals are good. BIOS is good.

Does anyone know what could be causing this? I am happy to run more tests to figure it out ^_^

Thoughts

  • Could be caused by incompatible drivers (possibly Motherboard related).
  • There could be an issue with the PSU, Graphics Card, or Motherboard.
  • The house could have an inconsistent power grid. Though this is unlikely, because the monitor never flickers and everything else in the house works. Though, the power drain might be different or one of the outlets might not be up to spec.
