Windows 10 Hi, I am having trouble opening any kind of text, doc files including word docs etc.

The system can not open any kind of text files including web word documents. I tried to delete and reinstall notepad/ wordpad in the optional features setting but it says install failed. Also I tried to reset this pc, I can only download the system from local drives
