Windows 11 How do I add my desktop pc to a new Microsoft account

I cannot add my all in one desktop pc to my my new Microsoft account (outlook)? It only gives me options to add an Xbox or accessories, no options @ all for my pc? I suddenly kept getting a request for an authentication code, and I used Microsoft's authenticator, but it never worked and would tell me they didn't hear from me and to try again? Furthermore when I would get a code, it asked me to verify it in Outlook, only there was nothing there? Or, sometimes I would get a 5 digit code, a mix of letters & numbers, but the popup keyboard only gave options for numerals only? I honestly don't
