Windows 10 How do I disable this stupid adaptive contrast/brightness?

I'm sick and tired of my monitor going dark every time I open an app that has a dark background (like Oculus.) It makes the screen nearly unreadable. I've looked all over the internet and none of the answers work or are relevant. There is no setting for adaptive brightness or contrast in either the video or power option settings. Windows 10.
