Windows 11 How do I get the 'Photos' widget to show my pictures?

I've been trying to figure this out for hours and I'm not even sure why I care, but can anyone explain as to how I make the photos widget actually show my pictures? It was working the other day when I looked at the widgets board, but now for some reason it just says "Relive your memories by uploading your photos from the OneDrive App." I've been fussing with my smartphone and with OneDrive on both my smartphone and my computer as well as Google Photos and Google Drive.
